Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between CEGISDOW COURIER (“the Company,” “We,” “Us”) and the sender (“Client,” “You”). By booking a shipment with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Scope of Service

CEGISDOW COURIER provides logistics, document delivery, and haulage services across Ghana. We reserve the right to refuse any shipment that does not comply with our safety standards or the laws of the Republic of Ghana.

2. Prohibited Items

To ensure the safety of our fleet and the public, we do not carry:

  • Illegal drugs, narcotics, or psychotropic substances.

  • Firearms, ammunition, or explosives.

  • Hazardous, flammable, or combustible materials.

  • Perishable food items (unless specifically booked under our “Cold Chain” service).

  • Live animals or human remains.

  • High-value currency, bullion, or unset precious stones (unless declared and specially insured).

3. Sender’s Responsibility

The Client is responsible for:

  • Accurate Information: Providing the correct recipient name, active phone number, and precise GPS/physical address.

  • Secure Packaging: Ensuring items are packed to withstand normal handling during transit. CEGISDOW is not liable for damage resulting from insufficient packaging.

  • Content Declaration: Honestly declaring the contents and value of the parcel.

4. Delivery & Rerouting

  • Delivery Attempts: We will make up to two (2) attempts to deliver a parcel. If the recipient is unavailable, the parcel will be returned to our hub, and a re-delivery fee may apply.

  • Rerouting: Any change to the delivery address after the parcel has been dispatched may incur additional charges.

  • Proof of Delivery (POD): A digital signature or photo verification by the recipient shall constitute conclusive evidence of successful delivery.

5. Rates and Payment

  • Pricing: Rates are calculated based on weight, distance, and service type (Express vs. Standard).

  • Payment Terms: Payment is due at the time of booking unless the Client has a verified Corporate Account.

  • Cancellations: If a pickup is cancelled after a rider has been dispatched, a base “Call-out Fee” will be charged.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • Standard Liability: In the event of loss or damage proven to be caused by our negligence, CEGISDOW’s liability is limited to the declared value of the item or a maximum of [Insert Amount, e.g., GHS 500], whichever is lower.

  • Excluded Losses: We are not liable for “Indirect Losses” (e.g., loss of profit, business opportunity, or emotional distress) resulting from a delayed or lost delivery.

  • Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to: extreme weather, government-mandated lockdowns, or civil unrest.

7. Claims & Complaints

  • Timeline: Any claims for damage must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Claims for loss must be reported within 7 days of the expected delivery date.

  • Inspection: Damaged items and their original packaging must be made available for inspection by our quality control team.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Accra.
